2004: PGA European Tour - Harrington roars into Ryder Cup
Pulheim, Germany
Padraig Harrington, on the weekend before the Ryder Cup matches, went to Bernhard Langer’s homeland and gave the European captain reason to smile.
Harrington snapped out of a nine-month winless streak Sept. 12 by capturing the German Masters, becoming the third European Ryder Cup team member in as many weeks to win a PGA European Tour event.
He followed the footsteps of teammates Miguel Angel Jimenez and Luke Donald – winners of the BMW International Open and the European Masters, respectively, in the two previous weeks.
