Quail Lodge to showcase classic rides
Thursday, April 16, 2009
Carmel, Calif. – Like its resort counterparts on the Monterey Peninsula, Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club takes its golf seriously. It’s home to a course designed by Robert Muir Graves.
But sticks and balls will give way to classic rides for two upcoming events on Quail Lodge’s calendar.
On May 9 the resort will host the inaugural Quail Motorcycle Gathering, featuring 100 vintage pre- and post-war sport and racing bikes. The event will include a Bonhams & Butterfields motorbike auction. Tickets are $65 per person, which covers lunch, musical entertainment and access to the auction. The event is free for children 12 and younger.
The Motorcycle Gathering will kick off with The Quail Motorcycle Tour along the Monterey Peninsula coastline May 8. That event, which will conclude with dinner at Quail Lodge, is limited to 50 participants and costs $250 per person.
Rooms are available at Quail Lodge starting at $249 per night. For reservations, call 888-828-8787.
From Aug. 10-12, the lodge also will hold the latest edition of The Quail Rally, a celebration of classic cars. The rally, which takes place on coastal roads near Carmel, also serves as a fundraiser for local and national charities.
That will be followed Aug. 14 by The Quail Motorsports Gathering, including a Bonhams & Butterfields auction. The event is limited to 3,000 people.
