Washington runs away with Pac-10 title
University of Washington's Darren Wallace took medalist honors as the Huskies rolled to a victory at the Pac-10 Conference Championship.
Washington won its fifth title of the season Wednesday at the Pac-10 Championship, firing 16-under 1,424 to beat Oregon by 18 shots.
Washington, which hosted the tournament at Seattle Golf Club, shot par or better in all four rounds. The Huskies were led by junior Darren Wallace (pictured), who won the individual title by four strokes over teammate Nick Taylor. Wallace shot a final-round 70 to finish at 11-under 277, while Taylor closed with 68 to finish at 7-under par.
UCLA’s Erik Flores shot a final-round 67 to tie for third with Oregon’s Daniel Miernicki (70) at 5-under par.
Arizona State finished a distant third in the team race, firing a final-round 363 for a 16-over par total. Stanford was another shot back.
