Home sweet Minnesota

ORLANDO, Fla. – Just a few more hours until I leave the comfy confines of Golfweek Headquarters for the PGA Championship.
I can’t wait. I’m heading home.
Hazeltine National, in the southwest suburbs of Minneapolis, is about 30 miles from where I grew up just 10 minutes north of downtown. Family and friends tell me it’s been an unseasonably cool summer, but the August heat and humidity is expected to return this week.
Instead of staying at the media hotel, I’m shacking up at my parents’ home this week. A home-cooked meal beats Outback Steakhouse any day.
Looking forward to a great week . . .
