Tropical storm Danny delays The Barclays
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – “Moving day” on the PGA Tour, at least for The Barclays, will start a little later. Chalk it up to tropical storm Danny, which threw a bit of turmoil into Friday’s second round, but is expected to cause even more havoc overnight and into Saturday.
Consequently, tour officials made the decision to delay the start of the third round unti 10:30 a.m. Players will go off in threesomes from the first and 10th tees with the leaders (Webb Simpson, 8-under; Steve Marino and Paul Goydos, 6-under) scheduled for 1 p.m.
Tiger Woods, who bogeyed his 18th hole to shoot 72 and fall to level par and a tie for 17th, will be off the first tee at 11:32 with Zach Johnson and Luke Donald.
Woods was paired with Johnson (and Steve Stricker) for the first two rounds, too.
