UCLA continues to cruise in defense of its Central Regional title. The Bruins posted a 2-over 290 in the second round and lengthened their lead over Purdue to 10 shots.

Consistency has been the Bruins’ calling card. Defending co-medalist Maria Jose Uribe and freshman Stephanie Kono both shot 2-under 70s and are tied for the lead at 5-under 139.

Uribe and Kono hold a one-shot lead over Purdue’s Maude-Aimee LeBlanc, who earned co-medalist honors at the Big Ten Championship. LeBlanc shared her Big Ten medal with teammate Maria Hernandez, who is the Central Regional co-defending champion with Uribe. Hernandez is tied for fifth at 1-over 145 with teammate Junthima Gulyanamitta and Wake Forest’s Nannette Hill.

Chattanooga is still the lowest-seeded team in the top 8. The Mocs are in eighth place after an 11-over 299. Moa Duf posted her second consecutive 74 and is tied for 13th at 4-over 148.

Fifth-seeded Louisville is in 14th place after going 308-307. Cindy LaCrosse is tied for 24th to lead the Cardinals.

Sixth-seeded Kent State tied for 11th. Louisville and Kent State are ranked 18th and 19th, respectively, in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
