Ninth-seeded Ohio State, which started the second round in ninth place, moved into a tie for third through eight holes. The Buckeyes were 2 under as a team.

Playing as an individual, Marquette senior Mike Van Sickle made four birdies and an eagle through 16 holes. He moved from a tie for 11th into a tie for third. Van Sickle has won five events this season.

The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championship May 26-30 at Inverness in Toledo, Ohio.
