Jason Roets birdied two of his last three holes Sunday to win the Optimist International Tournament of Champions.

Roets, 16, of Johannesburg, South Africa, shot rounds of 71-70 at the Crooked Cat Course at Orange Country National in Winter Garden, Fla., to finish at 3-under 141.

Roets, No. 143 in the Golfweek/Titleist Junior Rankings, won the AJGA’s McArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends in July and tied for 19th at the Junior Players Championship in September.

Hayden Squadtiro, who started the day tied for eighth, closed with 69 to tie for second with Joshua Lee (73) at 1-under 143.

First-round leader Sam Jackson started with a birdie at No. 1, but played his next 17 holes in 8 over. He shot 79 and tied for ninth.

In the boys’ 14-15 division, Clancy Waugh won by a shot despite a double bogey on his final hole. The North Palm Beach, Fla., native finished at 5-over 149. Sheldon Statkewicz was second at 150.

Nicole Quinn, 16, won the girls’ division, closing with three birdies in her final five holes for a 3-over 75. The Windermere, Fla., native finished at 2-over 146. Katie Petrino (147) finished second. Juliana Herrera and Kailey Walsh tied for third at 153.
