Player of the Week: Alexis Thompson
Alexis Thompson, of Coral Springs, Fla., won the AJGA’s Polo Golf Junior Classic, played at PGA National’s Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Thompson, 14, never had a match go past No. 17. The top-ranked girl in the Golfweek/Titleist Junior Rankings, Thompson beat No. 2-ranked Victoria Tanco in the final match, 3 and 2. The Polo was Thompson’s first AJGA invitational win, but her fourth AJGA victory.
