The high-end luxury of Loro Piana
Wednesday, January 13, 2010
All men should go out on the course looking like a Loro Piana ad.
This luxury Italian brand, which also makes clothes for women and children, claims to be the “foremost cashmere manufacturer and the largest single buyer of the finest wools.” I have a real fondness for cashmere, and checking the brand’s lineup would be my first stop before hitting the links in chilly conditions.
Sure, the Loro Piana line is expensive. But will you look good? Yes.
Besides looking good, these items have great longevity. Cashmere lasts forever and never goes out of style.
An interesting side note: Loro Piana isn’t known as a golf apparel line. Rather, it’s a luxury brand that caters to the sophisticated lifestyle of its clientele. The line includes accessories, leather goods and gift collections. It's usually found in New York, Palm Beach, Aspen and Beverly Hills. You can also find it in many high-end department stores.
In addition, Loro Piana has two huge outlet locations. One is in the Palm Springs, Calif., area at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon, Calif. The other near New York City in the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Central Valley, N.Y.
How can you beat a Palm Springs golf vacation in the middle of winter? Or how about a shopping, entertainment and a restaurant-hopping weekend in NYC?
I’ll be there.
