Golfweek’s Best deals: Innisbrook R&GC
Innisbrook never has received the recognition of flashier Florida resorts such as TPC Sawgrass and Doral, but it long has been a favorite stop for PGA Tour players. They typically rave about the resort’s Copperhead Course, giving it even higher marks than Golfweek’s raters, who rank it No. 17 on Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play in Florida.
The Copperhead is the headliner of an outstanding four-course menu at Innisbrook, where Salamander Hotels & Resorts has poured $25 million into improvements since acquiring the property in July 2007. The other tracks include the Island Course, where Phil Mickelson won the NCAA Championship in 1990.
Guests not playing on golf packages can expect to pay more than $200 at various times during the year to play the Copperhead or Island. That makes Innisbrook’s Classic Golf Package all the more appealing. The package, which starts at $179 based on double occupancy, includes lodging, 18 holes daily, $25 spa and restaurant credits, and a $10 retail credit. The base price drops to $159 on April 15.
