Jean Reynolds is an LPGA rookie, a rising star and a Georgia grad. She recently signed with Bobby Jones apparel. I chatted with her about her new deal and fairway fashion.

What does it mean for you to be wearing Bobby Jones apparel?

I’m looking forward to working with such a respected company in the golf business. It is so important to feel comfortable in your clothes while playing. I knew from the beginning that this clothing line was going to be a perfect fit for me.

Describe your on-course style.

I like classic styling on the golf course. I’m not that comfortable with anything too flashy, so I guess you could say that I prefer understated elegance.

Who do you consider to be a fairway style icon?

I would say on the men’s tour Tom Watson and Davis Love III have been two of my favorites. On the women’s tour, Lorena Ochoa.

What do you like to wear off the course? Will you be wearing Bobby Jones wherever you go?

Most of the time you will find me on the golf course. However, on my days off I normally wear casual jeans, skirts and golf tops. So I think you’ll see me in Bobby Jones quite a bit.

What accessories are on your must-have list? And what about those accessories make them work for you?

I always wear my pearl earrings that a good friend gave to me. They add just a classic elegance to whatever I am wearing. I normally wear a watch also.

How much input are you going to have in the design and production of the Bobby Jones women’s line?

The Bobby Jones people really know what they are doing so I’m not sure they need any help. But I am looking forward to being a resource for them and being able to provide input with what works well out there on the links. I love all the clothes I have worn so far.

What are your thoughts on a golf stylist? Do you think there is a market for it? And would you use one?

Dressing well shows respect for the game and I think that good style has a positive marketing effect. So if golf stylists will help more players benefit in the marketplace, then I’m all for it.

You grew up in Newnan, Ga. Have your Southern roots reflected your style as a golfer?

Absolutely! And I think that was one of the reasons that attracted me to Bobby Jones apparel. It is such a classic, quality look, and that is the clothing style I grew up knowing and recognizing around the golf course.

What is one piece of style advice that every golfer needs to know?

Dress for comfort and let your clothes fit your personality.

You are at the top of the leaderboard going into the weekend at an event. Are you going to spice up your wardrobe for the cameras?

Yes! I will have my favorite outfits that have given me confidence in the past.
