Davies, Horsey share lead in Morocco
AGADIR, Morocco – Defending champion Rhys Davies of Wales recovered from a poor start to shoot a 4-under 68 Saturday and share the lead with David Horsey after the third round at the Trophee Hassan II.
Davies mixed three bogeys and two birdies in the first six holes. He then added six birdies and one bogey the rest of the way for a 10-under 205.
Horsey had an eagle on the sixth hole and finished with a 67 on the Golf du Palais Royal course.
Davies and Horsey will start Sunday’s final round with a one-shot lead over Jaco van Zyl of South Africa, who had seven birdies in a 65.
George Coetzee of South Africa and Mikko Ilonen of Finland are two shots off the lead after 69s. Joost Luiten of the Netherlands shared the overnight lead with Davies but finished with a 71, tied for sixth.
