Niebrugge (No. 42, 2012) commits to OK State
Monday, April 25, 2011
Jordan Niebrugge has given a verbal commitment to play for Oklahoma State. Niebrugge, No. 42 in the 2012 class, has been a highly sought-after player out of Mequon, Wis.
Niebrugge, who stands 6-foot-3, had made unofficial visits to Arizona State, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Marquette, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford, Wisconsin and Oklahoma State. He considered Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan and Stanford before deciding to play for the top-ranked Cowboys.
“The opportunity to play for coach (Mike) McGraw and coach (Allan) Bratton, along with the tradition and history of the golf program, were the main reasons I chose Oklahoma State. I also felt the daily competition, use of the practice facility and playing Karsten Creek everyday would offer me the best opportunity to reach my full potential,” Niebrugge said.
Niebrugge, a junior at Homestead High School, has celebrated much success in junior golf the past couple of years. He has two AJGA victories and finished third at the Golfweek Junior Invitational last winter. He qualified and advanced to match play at the U.S. Junior Amateur last summer.
