Rolex enters marketing agreement with Asian Tour
The Asian Tour announced a marketing agreement with Rolex, naming the Swiss watchmaker the official timekeeper of the Asian Tour for 2011.
The deal extends Rolex’s involvement in golf, which has been a staple among the company’s marketing platforms since the late 1960s. Rolex currently has associations with many of the sport’s premier competitions, including the four majors, the World Golf Championships, the Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup. It also has partnerships with the top professional circuits and a host of marquee golf names, including Colin Montgomerie, Bernhard Langer, Paul Azinger, Annika Sorenstam, Lorena Ochoa, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Luke Donald.
Jean-Noël Bioul, Rolex’s co-director sponsorship international activities, said: “We are proud to be associated with the Asian Tour and believe that their product is going from strength to strength with exciting opportunities ahead.”
Barclay already had relationships with several of the Asian Tour’s co-sanctioned events such as CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Barclays Singapore Open and Avantha Masters.
