Crane to play through torn labrum in hip
Tuesday, December 6, 2011
Ben Crane revealed on his Twitter feed Monday that he has a torn labrum in his left hip but will attempt to play through the injury in 2012.
“Going to try and play thru Sept before surgery,” Crane wrote. “3 month recovery so prob miss some golf...”
Crane won in October at the McGladrey Classic, but nearly withdrew before the start of the event because of pain in his hip. This diagnosis explains why.
The McGladrey represented Crane’s fourth career victory on Tour, and the 35-year-old finished 50th on the PGA Tour money list, with nearly $1.7 million in earnings.
