Kaitlin Park, of Tustin, Calif., has given a verbal commitment to Tulane for the fall of 2012. Park also considered Northwestern, Colorado, UCLA, UC Irvine, Oregon and Wake Forest before narrowing her decision down to Northwestern and Tulane.
“The golf and the school parts are really amazing to me,” Park said of continuing her golf career in New Orleans. “The campus has beautiful architecture which really pulled me in. I wanted to go into architecture in college.”
Park said she is excited to work with head coach John Thomas Horton and join the roster. A climate that allows for year-round golf also was important to her.
“I met the whole team during my unofficial visit and they were really great,” she said. “I got to watch them play a qualifier, got to see how they play.”
Park has one win and three top-5 finishes in AJGA events. She recently finished T-24 at the Annika Invitational.
