Summar Roachell of Conway, Ark., has given a verbal commitment to play for Arkansas. Roachell also made unofficial visits to Ole Miss, LSU and TCU, and considered Oklahoma State.

Roachell, who lives about 2 1/2 hours from the Arkansas campus, grew up a Razorbacks fan. She references a strong history of women’s golf – and a successful alumna such as LPGA player Stacy Lewis – as draws for the program.

“I got along with the team really well,” Roachell said. “They made me feel like part of the team when I was up on my visit.”

Roachell also was impressed by Arkansas’ home course, Blessings Golf Club. She calls it “one of the best practice facilities around.

Highlights of Roachell’s summer include a trip to the quarterfinals in the U.S. Girls’ Junior, winning the Bubba Conlee Junior and finishing T-2 at the AJGA Genesis Shootout. She also was a captain’s pick for the victorious U.S. squad at the Junior Solheim Cup. readers: We value your input and welcome your comments, but please be respectful in this forum.
