Tuesday, November 8, 2011
Michael Pisciotta of Alpharetta, Ga., has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at Georgia Tech. Pisciotta is the ninth-ranked golfer in the 2014 class and ranked No. 47 overall.
Before committing to Georgia Tech, Pisciotta had made an unofficial visit to Oklahoma State and considered Alabama.
“I’ve always wanted to play for Coach (Bruce) Heppler and Georgia Tech,” Pisciotta said. “Coach Heppler explained to me the advantages of the program, not only its great golf history and the success of its players after graduation, but the opportunity for a great education. He helped me understand how being a smarter, well-rounded person will make me a more successful competitor. It feels great to be part of the Georgia Tech golf team.”
Pisciotta is a 2011 Honorable Mention Rolex Junior All-American. He won the AJGA Huntsville Junior, placed fourth at the AJGA Frederica Junior Open, finished sixth at the AJGA Junior at Steelwood and third at the AJGA TaylorMade-Adidas Junior All-Star at Chateau Elan.
