Colorado wins Edean Ihlanfeldt by two shots

Colorado broke out of a tie with California during the final round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational on Wednesday to win its first tournament since the Heather Farr/CU Memorial last fall.
The Buffs finished two shots ahead of Oregon as California dropped down the leaderboard. Colorado shot 13-over 301 in the final round at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash., and finished the tournament at 32-over 896. The Buffs were two shots ahead of Oregon. Colorado also was runner-up in its season opener, the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic.
Host Washington was tied for third with California at 36-over 900.
Sophomore Alex Stewart led the Buffs with a fourth-place finish. The Purdue transfer, who also was runner-up at this summer’s Women’s Trans National Amateur, finished at 1-over 217. Sophomore Jennifer Coleman added another top finish, coming in 10th at 10-over 226.
Nebraska’s Madeleine Sheils won the individual title with a 2-under 214. She climbed from fifth to first during the final round thanks to a 5-under 67.
