SMU continues to get verbal commitments from top players. This time, it is David Lee, ranked No. 21 in the 2012 class. Lee, of Houston, had offers from California, Texas, Texas A&M and was in contact with Stanford.

“I picked SMU because of the two-time NCAA champion coach (Josh) Gregory and coach (Jason) Enloe,” Lee said. “They are great coaches, and with their knowledge I feel like I can step my game to a new level, but more importantly to grow as a person. Also, I can get an awesome education along with the top golf.”

Lee, who attends the Zion Academy, recently tied for 10th place at The Ping Invitational, his third top 10 this year in AJGA events. He also tied for second at the PGA Junior Championship in August.

Lee joins Austin Smotherman, Maxime Blandin, Bryson DeChambeau and Ryan Burgess in the 2012 class to commit to SMU.
