N'wide Tour Championship moving to Texas in '12
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Golfweek has learned that the 2012 Nationwide Tour Championship will be held at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, which hosted the event in 2008.
The Nationwide Tour Championship has been held at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, S.C., since 2009. The three-year contract to conduct the event in Charleston expired this year, though. Next year’s Nationwide Tour Championship was moved from Charleston to avoid competing with the 2012 PGA Championship, which will be held at nearby Kiawah Island, for sponsors and volunteers.
Matt Bettencourt won the 2008 Nationwide Tour Championship at TPC Craig Ranch to win the tour’s money title. Matt Every won the 2009 event at Daniel Island, followed by Brendan Steele.
The 2012 Nationwide Tour schedule has yet to be released.
