Continuing its expansion to the western U.S., Edwin Watts Golf Shops announced the acquisition of Uinta Golf, a five-store chain based in central Utah.

The network of stores, to be called Edwin Watts Golf Uinta, brings the number of domestic locations in the retailer’s portfolio to more than 90.

The Uinta stores are in Salt Lake City, Sandy, Riverdale, Orem and St. George. Edwin Watts, which is based in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., will use the Salt Lake City location as its new western regional office.

“Recognizing the strong heritage and the established reputation throughout the community, we will preserve the brand as Edwin Watts Golf Uinta,” said John Watson, Edwin Watts’ CEO, referring to the Utah-based chain that has been in business for more than 40 years.

Edwin Watts is an affiliated company of Sun Capital Partners.
