Sanz, Auburn women win SEC titles in Arkansas

Auburn made a late Sunday run to overcome Arkansas to take the SEC Women's Championship by one stroke, finishing with a 25-over 313 on the par-72 Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.

The No. 7 Tigers were nine shots off Alabama's first-round lead, but the Tide imploded with a second-round, 24-over 312 to give Auburn a one-shot lead heading into the final round.
Second-ranked Alabama finished six shots back and in third place, while Florida was nine shots back in fourth place. Georgia was 17 shots behind in fifth place.
Patricia Sanz led the Auburn attack, winning the individual title by one stroke over Vanderbilt's Marina Alex and two shots ahead of Arkansas' Emily Tubert. Madelene Sagstrom of LSU was fourth and Georgia's Marta Silva Zamora placed fifth.
Defending NCAA champion Austin Ernst finished T-36 after rounds of 78-83-79.
