A year after D.A. Points and Bill Murray stole the show at Pebble Beach, it will be someone else that grabs plenty of headlines this week at Pebble Beach.

Tiger Woods returns to the scene of his masterful 2000 U.S. Open victory, this time making his 2012 PGA Tour debut against a strong field that includes Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, Nick Watney and Rickie Fowler.

Woods is coming off a T-3 finish in Abu Dhabi, including being tied for the lead heading into the final round. That performance was on the heels of his win at the Chevron Challenge.

Our fantasy panelists had a good week at the Phoenix Open, with both Jeff Rude and Alex Miceli predicting Kyle Stanley's impressive victory. Miceli takes the lead, but Rude and Jim McCabe are on his heels.

Our panelists seem to think that Tiger and Mickelson will duke it out this week, while the globetrotting Mahan piqued Jeff Rude's interest:

Rank Winner Wild Card Last Week
Rude Hunter Mahan

Runner-up in the Pebble Beach tournament last year. Finished sixth at Torrey Pines.

Geoff Ogilvy

Australians tend to play well early in the year because it’s summer back home and they’re not rusty. Plus, this guy has a world-class game, especially around the greens.

Winner: Webb Simpson ($170,800); wild card: Kyle Stanley ($1,098,000). 2012 total: $2,087,088

McCabe Phil Mickelson

He's started the season with three consecutive finishes outside the top 30. Last time he did that was 2009 and he won his fourth tournament, at Riviera. He also did that in 2007, then he won his fourth tournament, at Pebble Beach.

D.A. Points

It's easy to relieve the pressures of being a defending champ when you have Bill Murray beside you. There's also the fact that Points is off to a good start – four consecutive cuts made, including two top 10s and sub-par efforts in 15 of his 16 rounds.

Winner: Bubba Watson ($222,650); wild card: Keegan Bradley ($100,650). 2012 total: $1,950,825

Martin Tiger Woods

I can't think of a good reason not to.

Bryce Molder

He was sixth here last year and has finished in the top 15 in six of his past seven starts.

Winner: Martin Laird ($13,115); wild card: Jason Dufner ($170,800). 2012 total: $591,027

Miceli Phil Mickelson

Dustin Johnson or Phil Mickelson, that was the dilemma this week. After picking Stanley last week who had the hot hand in San Diego until the 72nd hole, but decided to use different logic and pick one of two guys that love playing here. I took Phil because I think he is so close, hopefully not to breaking my streak but extending it.

Tom Gillis

Not having the best of the 2012 season, but loves Pebble Beach. Hopefully that will jump start him.

Winner: Kyle Stanley ($1,098,000); wild card: Mark Wilson ($68,843). 2012 total: $2,454,469

Ringler Tiger Woods

When was the last time Woods was really the favorite? He has to be this week at Pebble where the field is weak. Just 31 players inside the top 100 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.

Harris English

Get used to this name, if you have not already. The former Georgia Bulldog is off to a fast start on the PGA Tour. Made the cut in all four starts with a pair of top 25s and ranks inside the top 50 on the 2012 Money List.

Winner: Phil Mickelson ($43,310); wild card: Mark Wilson ($68,843). 2012 total: $1,433,789
