Stacy Snider was hired this week as the women’s coach at Louisiana-Monroe.

“I am extremely excited and thankful to be given the opportunity to lead this program and look forward to building upon the already solid foundation,” Snider said in a statement. “I will rely on my experience of playing for a nationally ranked team as well as on tour to provide the best opportunity for the student-athletes to be successful on and off the course.”

Snider joins the Warhawks after a combined eight years of experience as a professional golfer, teaching professional and coach. Most recently, she was the teaching pro at the Golf Club at Thornapple Point in Grand Rapids, Mich., after two years as the volunteer assistant coach at Michigan State, her alma mater, where she lettered for four years.

From 2004 to '06, Snider competed professionally on the Duramed Futures and LPGA tours. She is the only woman to win the Michigan PGA Tournament of Champions, which was just her second professional start.
