Robert Geibel of Pembroke Pines, Fla., has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at Louisville.
Geibel made unofficial visits to North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Florida and Barry, and he also considered Auburn, Kansas, Southern Mississippi and Liberty.
“During my unofficial visit, I was impressed with the coaching staff, the university and the practice facilities,” Geibel said. “I feel that this was the best fit for me because Coach (Mark) Crabtree and Coach (Andrew) Tredway will take my game to a higher level. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to become a member of the Cardinal family.”
Geibel, who is ranked No. 55 in the 2013 class, will be a senior this year at American Heritage in Plantation, Fla. Geibel finished sixth in the Florida State Championship and won the 2011 Bubba Conlee.
