Thursday, July 12, 2012
Austin Eoff of Benton, Ark., has made a verbal commitment to play college golf at Purdue.
Eoff, who will be senior this fall at Benton High School, also made unofficial visits to Kansas, Oregon and Stanford before deciding to play for the Boilermakers. He also considered Ole Miss.
“I chose Purdue because of its academic achievement as a school,” Eoff said. “I really like all the coaches on staff and feel like they can help my game while at college and after. Also, they will have two Pete Dye courses on campus and a practice facility that few schools can beat with their state-of-the-art indoor facilities.”
Eoff, who is the top-ranked junior golfer in Arkansas, is a three-time all-state performer and 6A state medalist. He was selected to play for Team USA this July in the Optimist World Cup and recently tied for ninth place at the Bubba Conlee with rounds of 70-71-73. He will compete in the U.S. Junior Amateur later this summer after winning his qualifier last week.
