HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- John Yi shot the low round of the tournament with a 4-under 67 to take a two-shot lead after the second round of the AJGA's Under Armour/Jeff Overton Championship at The Ledges.

Yi had four birdies over his last nine holes and six overall to leap past overnight-leader Charlie Flowers, who fired a 3-over 74 to fall back to even par for the tournament.

Julian Rippert is four shots back, while Lee Hodges and Blake Messer are five behind Yi heading into Thursday's final round. Yi was the only player to break par on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, on the girls side, Janie Jackson and Lindsey Weaver remain tied for the lead after both followed 4-under 67s on Tuesday with even-par 71s on Wednesday. They have made it a two-girl race, as they are 10 shots clear of Angie Varona and Haley Austin, who are tied for third place.

This tournament previously was known as the AJGA Huntsville Junior. Past girls winners include Thanya Pattamakijsakul (2011) and Emma Talley (2010). The past two boys winners were Michael Pisciotta (2011) and Tolver Dozier (2010).
