Ohio State tops host Miami in Hurricane playoff

Ohio State won a team playoff Tuesday over tournament host Miami at the Hurricane Invitational for its first team title of the season.
The Buckeyes entered the final round at Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club in Miami trailing the Hurricanes by eight shots. As scores rose across the board during Tuesday’s final round, Ohio State posted a 29-over 313 to Miami’s 321 and forced a team playoff as both teams stood at 66-over 918. Ohio State won on the second hole of sudden death.
Individually, Georgia State’s Charlotte Lorentzen was medalist, posting 3-over 219 to finish a shot ahead of James Madison’s Ginger Mak. Alice Choi of Georgetown was third, five shots back.
Amy Meier was the top Ohio State finisher, tying for fourth at 8-over 226 with Campbell teammates Brooke Bellamy and Kaylin Yost.
