Oregon men win home event by two

EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon men's team got a 1-2-3 individual finish from Andrew Vijarro, Eugene Wong and Daniel Miernicki, respectively, and held off Long Beach State at its home event, The Duck Invitational, on Tuesday. Oregon finished at 17-under 847, two shots ahead of Long Beach State. St. Mary's (Calif.) finished third at 1-under 863.

Vijarro, a senior from Bend, Ore., finished at 6-under 210 for his first college title, followed closely by Wong at 5-under 211 and Miernicki at 4-under 212. Teammate Robbie Ziegler (215) tied for eighth for the Ducks, who are No. 12 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.

Long Beach State, ranked No. 49 and coming off a tie for first place with seventh-ranked Washington at the Bandon Dunes Championship, trailed the host Ducks by one shot entering Tuesday's final round and stayed close thanks to top-10 finishes from Kevin Lin (T-5), Raymond Ho (T-5) and Xander Schauffele (T-8).
