LSU won its home event, the David Toms Intercollegiate, for its second consecutive victory. The Tigers shot 33-over 897 to finish eight shots ahead of South Alabama.
LSU’s Andrew Presley won the individual title with a 4-over 220 total (73-73-74). The 7,578-yard, par-72 University Club played to a 78.6 scoring average for the week.
Presley, who advanced to the Round of 16 at this year’s U.S. Amateur, is the third Tiger to win an individual title this season. Curtis Thompson and Stewart Jolly shared medalist honors at the Tigers’ victory at their last start, the Graeme McDowell/Shoal Creek Intercollegiate. LSU, No. 14 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, finished fourth in its other start this season, the Carpet Capital Collegiate.
Presley finished one shot ahead of South Alabama’s Michael Garretson (75-73-73) and LSU teammate Smylie Kaufman (74-75-72), who was playing as an individual.
