Glover starts at Wyndham despite broken toe
Lucas Glover entered the week at No. 99 in the FedEx Cup standings, so a good finish in the Wyndham Championship would help ensure the Clemson product of at least two playoff starts.
So despite a broken middle toe in his right foot, Glover was determined to play in the regular-season finale at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
"He was dead set on playing,” Glover's manager Mac Barnhardt told Golf Channel. “He had to withdraw last year because of his knee and he considers this a home game. He’s determined to play if he can.”
Glover injured the toe Wednesday morning on the crib of his 3-month-old daughter, Lucille. He had to withdraw from Wednesday's pro-am, but made his opening-round tee time on Thursday.
Unfortunately, Glover got off to a poor start, beginning the day 4 over through eight holes.
