Reed rises in OWGR, Simpson in Presidents Cup points

Patrick Reed jumped 105 spots to No. 64 in the Official World Golf Ranking after his victory at the Wyndham Championship Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

Reed began the season at No. 584, and now has four top-10 finishes in his last seven PGA Tour starts, including three straight.

Zach Johnson, who notched his fifth straight top-10 finish with a T-5 showing in Greensboro, moved up one spot to No. 24. He was No. 31 before the top-10 streak began.

Presidents Cup update

Webb Simpson, who tied for 11th in Greensboro, entered the top 10 in the United States Presidents Cup standings, moving from No. 12 to No. 10 and bumping Steve Stricker down to No. 11. Zach Johnson improved one spot to No. 9.

On the International side, Louis Oosthuzien continues to slide, dropping a spot to No. 5, while Ernie Els moved to No. 2, replacing Charl Schwartzel, who fell back a spot to No. 3.
