2012-13 Golfweek rank: 21
Go-to girl: Junior Hana Lee
Season outlook: Under the direction of head coach Emily Fletcher, last season's Wildcats captured the first Big Ten Championship in the program's history by sharing first place with Purdue, then rallied on the final day of the NCAA East Regional to reach their first NCAA Championship since the 1999-2000 season. Northwestern finished 15th at the NCAA finals in Athens, Ga.
This is still a relatively young team, as Devon Brown is the only senior on the roster. With junior Hana Lee, sophomore Kaitlin Park and Brown, the Wildcats seem set at the top of the lineup. Lee, a first-team All-Big Ten selection, notched five top-10 finishes last season and led Northwestern with a 74.27 stroke average. Park, meanwhile, was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year after posting four top-10 finishes, including a sixth place at the Big Ten Championship, where she finished one spot ahead of Brown.
Sophomores Suchaya Tangkamolprasert and Elizabeth Szokol played in 10 and eight events, respectively, last season and will compete for playing time at the Nos. 4 and 5 spots with freshmen Kacie Komoto and Minjia Luo.
