Who has had the better year, Scott or Woods?
Thursday, August 22, 2013
Adam Scott: 1, Tiger Woods: 0
That’s how many majors Scott and Woods have this year.
However, Woods does has five other victories this season and enters the FexEx Cup playoffs as No. 1 in the standings and in prime position to win his third FexEx Cup in its seven years of existence.
Scott has only one win, but it was the Masters, where he claimed his first career major and became the first Aussie to wear the green jacket.
“I’d rather have mine, that’s for sure,” Scott said. He also has top-5 finishes at the Open Championship and PGA Championship this year.
Not so fast, though. Scott thinks Woods has had a great season, too: “Five wins? Tiger’s had the best year. It’s hard to pass up looking at five wins. I think the next-best guy might have two; is that right? That’s a great year to win that many times.”
Maybe Woods would like Scott’s season.
“I really don’t know,” Scott said. “He may want mine. I mean, No. 15 is proving to be difficult for him, so that would have given him that.”
Earlier today, Woods said this about his season: “This year’s been a great year so far. I’ve won at two of my favorite venues, plus winning two World Golf Championships and a Players in there, it’s been pretty good.”
