Dustin Johnson has already secured his spot in next season's Hyundai Tournament of Champions with his victory on Tuesday in Kapalua, but he won't have much time to rest, as the Sony Open kicks off Thursday in Honolulu.

Johnson is an 8-1 favorite by oddsmakers, and is also the favorite for our Sean Martin as our staff of experts make their predictions for the first full-field event of the season.

Keegan Bradley, who played well in Kapalua this past week, and Zach Johnson are other players to keep an eye on, while defending champion Johnson Wagner fails to register on any of our experts' radars. If you are looking for an underdog pick, our experts like Charles Howell III to make some noise this week as well.

Here is a look at our picks this week:

Rank Winner Wild Card Last Week
Rude Keegan Bradley

Coming off good showing at Kapalua and was 13th at Sony Open in 2012. Confidence high.

Carl Pettersson

Played well at Kapalua and tied for second last year at Sony.

Winner: Dustin Johnson ($1,140,000); wild card: Scott Piercy ($120,400). 2013 total: $1,260,400

McCabe Keegan Bradley

Solid opener at the Hyundai, where he made just seven bogeys in 54 holes and finished joint fourth, at 9-under. Even more than usual, he seems to have a determined look to him this young season.

Charles Howell III

Two seconds, a fourth, and a fifth in his last six starts here, so there's clearly a comfort factor. Gut feeling he'll rebound from a 2012 season that left a sour taste in his mouth.

Winner: Brandt Snedeker ($432,000); wild card: Johnson Wagner ($120,400). 2013 total: $552,400

Martin Dustin Johnson

His Sony Open appearances have been sporadic, but he's fared well when he has played here. He was T-16 in 2010 and T-10 in 2008.

Bud Cauley

A solid T-29 in his Sony Open debut last year. This one is a bit of a hunch, but I like his chances.

Winner: Matt Kuchar ($175,000); wild card: Scott Piercy ($120,400). 2013 total: $295,400

Miceli Keegan Bradley

After last week it is a bit of a leap, but he has played so well over the last 12 months.

Charles Howell III

A lot of success at Sony in the past.

Winner: Keegan Bradley ($304,000); wild card: Scott Piercy ($120,400). 2013 total: $424,400

Ringler Matt Kuchar

Ranked No. 5 in Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index and one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour. If you are looking for consistency for your fantasy league early in the year, Kuchar is your pick. Has placed in the top five twice at the Sony.

Charles Howell III

Was runner-up here last year to Johnson Wagner and has great results at Waialae CC making the cut 11 times in 11 starts. He also adds six top-five finishes in this event and finished 2012 with three consecutive top-15 showings.

Winner: Steve Stricker ($665,000); wild card: Kyle Stanley ($61,000). 2013 total: $726,000

Masuda Zach Johnson

Sure, I am tempted to go with that other Johnson guy, but Zach Johnson has won this event and had six top-10s last season. Quiet, but deadly.

Scott Stallings

Well, this is a complete gut pick. Probably shouldn't do that since I am already in last place, but I think Stallings makes his first cut at the Sony Open (he missed in his first two tries). He had eight top-25s in 2012.

Winner: Hunter Mahan ($67,000); wild card: Jonas Blixt ($87,600). 2013 total: $154,600
