Callaway adds Adams R&D chief to staff
Reunited, and it feels so good.
Tim Reed has left Adams Golf, where he served as vice president of research and development, and is expected to join Callaway Golf on Jan. 21 as senior vice president of product strategy and management.
Reed is reuniting with his former boss, Chip Brewer, who departed Adams in February 2012 to become CEO and president of Callaway. It is also a homecoming of sorts for Reed, who managed the Odyssey putter brand for Tommy Armour Golf from 1995 to 1997, when it was sold to Callaway.
An internal corporate memo released Jan. 17 informed Callaway staff of Reed's hiring.
Allan Hocknell will continue to oversee Callaway’s equipment development as senior vice president of R&D. In his new role, Reed said he will coordinate all product strategy, including working with Hocknell and his R&D team, and sales, marketing and operations initiatives.
