The U.S. Golf Association has announced Tulsa (Okla.) Country Club as the site of the 2015 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, to be played July 20-25. It will be the third USGA championship hosted by Tulsa Country Club, following the 1960 U.S. Women’s Amateur and 2008 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur.
“Junior golf at any level represents the future of this great game, and the membership of Tulsa Country Club is extremely honored to have been selected to host the 2015 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship,” said Kevan Buck, president of Tulsa Country Club. “Our club boasts a proud history of championship golf at the amateur and professional levels, including a longstanding relationship with the USGA, and we are excited to have this opportunity to showcase Tulsa Country Club and the city of Tulsa to the world’s best junior players.”
Tulsa Country Club opened at its current location in 1908. The club’s original course was designed by A.W. Tillinghast and opened for play in 1920. Jay Morrish led a course refurbishment project in 1988, and Rees Jones was at the helm of a multi-year redesign completed in 2011.
Tulsa Country Club also will host the 2014 NCAA Women’s Championship.
