Madden’s on Gull Lake, a 63-hole resort in Brainerd, Minn., has instituted walking green fees for all of its courses. It's a bit of a gamble because cart fees are an important revenue stream, but the resort is betting that the policy will generate new business.

Alice Kim, a sophomore from Honolulu, won her first career title Feb. 26 at the UC Irvine Invitational. With her victory, she has earned an exemption into the LPGA’s Kia Classic on March 21-24. She shots rounds of 67-72-76 to win by four shots. Kim goes in the Gonzaga record books with a single-round school record of 67 and tied the 54-hole total of 215.
