Illinois, No. 20 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, won the Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne CC in Lafayette, La., on Tuesday for its second win of the season.

Illinois won over No. 14 LSU by eight shots. The Tigers shot the low team score of the tournament on Day 3 with a 6-under 282, trying to mount a comeback. Houston shot 12-over 876 to place third. Tulsa and Kent State tied for fourth at 13-over 877.

LSU freshman Zach Wright, who played as an individual, won the individual title to claim his first collegiate victory. He shot a tournament- and career-low 6-under 66 in the first round, adding rounds of 72-71 for a 7-under 209.
