Sophomore Manon Gidali led Arizona to its third team title this season at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. The Wildcats finished 25 shots ahead of Ohio State.

Arizona, No. 9 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, entered Wednesday’s final round at Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course in Kane’ohe, Hawaii with a 14-shot lead on Ohio State. Arizona, the only team to break 300 in the final round, finished at 11-over 875. The Wildcats also won their first two starts of the fall season at the Mason Rudolph Championship and the Windy City Collegiate.

Gidali’s 3-under 213 total left her two shots ahead of runner-up Amy Meier of Ohio State. Gidali’s teammate Patricia Garcia, a recent transfer from Texas A&M, finished T-3. Andrea Vilarasau was T-6 and Janie Jackson was T-11. Kendall Prince withdrew after a first-round 74.

“It was a great week for our team,” Arizona head coach Laura Ianello said. “The team fought hard with Kendall unable to tee it up (because of illness). We have been working hard in practice and it’s paying off. Manon had her third victory and it’s good to see her confidence come back.”

Gonzaga, coming off a victory at the UC Irvine Invitational, finished third and Ole Miss was fourth.
