Florida State swept the team and individual titles at its own Seminole Intercollegiate. The Seminoles, No. 20 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, shot 25-under 839 (277-284-278) at Southwood Golf Course in Tallahassee, Fla., to finish seven shots ahead of No. 43 Mississippi State.

Florida State sophomore Daniel Berger bolstered his player-of-the-year candidacy with a one-shot victory in the individual race. Berger shot 11-under 205 (67-69-69) to finish one shot ahead of three players: Mississippi State’s Joe Sakulpolphaisan (68), Florida State’s Chase Seiffert (67) and Coastal Carolina’s Sebastian Soderberg (70).

Berger entered the Seminole at No. 5 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings. He’s finished no worse than fifth in his past five starts including wins at the Gator Invitational and Seminole Intercollegiate and runners-up at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational and USF Invitational. Berger birdied the 207-yard, par-3 17th and made par on No. 18 to close out the one-shot victory

Florida State has won twice in three springs starts, and finished no worse than third. It opened the spring with a victory at the Gator Invitational. The Seminoles started the final round one shot ahead of Mississippi State. The Seminoles used four scores of par or better, led by Joaquin Lolas’ 67, to shoot the low score of the final round. Florida State was the only team to break 280 Sunday.

Florida State also had two players competing as individuals place in the top five. Seiffert was runner-up, and Rowin Caron placed fifth at 9-under 207.
