With its starting lineup intact, the California men's team returned to its old ways, strolling to a runaway victory Tuesday at the St. Mary's Invitational.

Cal, which won 11 of 14 stroke-play starts last year en route to a semifinal finish at the NCAA Championship and was No. 1 in Golfweek's preseason rankings for 2013-14, opened its fall season with a disappointing fourth-place finish at the Gopher Invitational. But that was a little misleading, as the Bears played without All-Americans Michael Kim and Michael Weaver, both of whom were playing for the victorious U.S. Walker Cup team in Massachusetts.

With Kim and Weaver back in the lineup this week, the Bears had an easy time of it at the St. Mary's event, finishing with a 10-under 854 total at Black Horse & Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, Calif., 30 shots ahead of second-place Oregon.

Cal had three golfers in the top 10, led by Weaver, who finished second at 6-under 210, one shot behind San Diego's Grant Forrest, who earned medalist honors with rounds of 71-69-69. Cal's Brandon Hagy finished third at 5-under 211, and Kim tied for eighth at 2-over 218.

Florida Gulf Coast's Matt Cote had a hole-in-one on the 196-yard sixth hole with a 5-iron.
