You might say Scott Vincent is on a roll.
The Virginia Tech junior, a native of Zimbabwe, earned his second consecutive victory, capturing the individual title at the VCU Shootout and also leading the Hokies to a runaway team victory Tuesday at Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot, Va.
All Vincent did at his previous event was go 7 under over his final six holes at the Golfweek Conference Challenge to fashion a final-round 8-under 64, a late run that gave him a share of medalist honors with LSU's Stewart Jolly.
This victory was a little more conventional, as Vincent shot consistent rounds of 69-68-69 for a 10-under 206 that was four shots better than teammate Bryce Chalkley and five better than Richmond's Keegan Hoff. Another Virginia Tech player, Trevor Cone, finished fourth.
The Hokies posted a 14-under 274 in the final round and finished at 23-under 841, 22 shots ahead of runner-up Iowa State, in winning the event for the second year in a row.
