Lamar successfully defended its Southland Conference Championship title with a six-shot victory Thursday at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club in Magnolia, Texas.

The Cardinals finished at 40-over 904 and boasted four players in the top 10, including freshman Kelly Erasmus, who placed fifth at 9-over 225.

"We knew coming in that we had a target on our back and we were going to get everyone's best shot," Lamar head coach Brian White said. "It wasn't our best tournament of the season, but we made the shots when we really needed them. We had different girls step up every day. I'm so proud of how they fought through every situation even when things weren't going our way."

Wenny Chang (T-7), Nghi Ngo (T-7) and Taylor Stockton (10th) also notched top-10 finishes for the Cardinals.

Central Arkansas' Sarah Brown was medalist at 3-over 219. She shot 3-under 69 in the final round to seal a one-shot victory over Oral Roberts' Shinwoo Lee.

Oral Roberts (46 over) was second while Central Arkansas (56 over) placed third.
