Wang, Costabile win World Junior Challenge titles

China’s Robin Wang and Canada’s Selena Costabile won their respective division titles at the Canadian Junior Golf Association’s World Junior Challenge at Innisbrook Resort on Dec. 30.

Wang defended his boys 15-19 division title by edging out Davis Shore by a single shot. He finished the tournament with a three-day total of 2-under 212. Shore was the only other player to finish under par. In third place was the Nethelands’ Martjin Horters who finished the tournament at 7 over.

Costabile hung on to win after a final-round 5-over 76 for a 7 over total. Florida native Vanessa Yan finished in second two shots back. In a tie for third place was Paraguay’s Anani Belen Servin Pacua and Canada’s Alisha Lau.

In the boys 14 and under division, Canada’s Daniel Core shot a 2-over 73 to win on the Copperhead curse. In second place, finishing two shot back of Core, was Ethan Ng of New York. In a tie for third place was Canada’s A.J. Ewart and Marco Trstenjak at 10 over.
