Greg Eason and Linnea Strom made the most significant jumps of the week in the latest World Amateur Golf Ranking, Eason winning the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational and Strom winning the Spanish Ladies Amateur.
Braes. The par-3 17th hole is intimidating, but a solid mid-iron should be enough to find the putting surface. Of course, you can always bail out left and the contours of the green will bring the ball back into the middle of the green.
Brownhills. Looking back on the first par 4 of the front nine, you can see how the hole fits into the farmland so well. It is hard to believe that this land was all flat farmland before David McLay Kidd got his hands on it.
The third hole at Castle is a par 3 and is named for the cathedral in the background at St. Andrews. The St. Rule is the tower in the St. Andrews cemetary where both Old and Young Tom Morris are buried.
