Ryan Lavner joined Golfweek in March 2010 as an assistant editor. Lavner grew up in Canandaigua, N.Y., and graduated in 2009 from the University of Georgia. Before starting at Golfweek, he wrote for MLB.com, the Athens Banner-Herald and the Highlands Today in Sebring, Fla.

• Favorite golf memory: Sad to say, I won the Finger Lakes East high school championship after shooting a 2-over 74. Sadder still: I won by six strokes.
• Dream vacation: Playing Augusta National, Pebble Beach and TPC Sawgrass in a three-day span. And if I play poorly, getting a mulligan.
• Best golf shot seen live: Shaun Micheel stuffing his approach to the 18th hole to clinch the 2003 PGA Championship at Oak Hill.
