Georgia wins by 12 in Puerto Rico

Georgia shot a final-round 273 Sunday at the Puerto Rico Classic to post a 12-shot victory over Clemson.

Georgia, which had three players finish in the top 5, finished at 38-under 826. Clemson, No. 8 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, shot a final-round 278 to finish at 838. Oklahoma State was third at 16-under 848 after a final-round 280.

Georgia’s Hudson Swafford, No. 9 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, closed with a second consecutive 67 to share the individual title with Texas freshman Dylan Fritelli (73) at 12-under 204. Fritelli is No. 247 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.

Georgia’s Russell Henley (67) and Brian Harman (66) tied for third with Clemson’s Ben Martin (66). Henley is No. 16 in Golfweek’s rankings, while Harman is No. 40. Georgia, which will move to No. 1 in the next Golfweek rankings, has four players ranked in the top 50 in the individual standings.
